Who we are

The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) is a UK non-profit membership association for women working in the travel industry. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at hello@awte.org.uk.

What we collect

  • Newsletter sign-ups: the email address you give us.
  • Company and corporate membership enquiries: the name, company, email address and any details you include in your message.
  • Emails to us: whatever you choose to send, so we can reply.
  • Member profiles and stories: only where you have shared them with us for publication.

Individual membership sign-ups and event bookings are handled on separate platforms (membermojo and Eventbrite), each with their own privacy policies.

How we use it

To send the newsletter you asked for, to answer your enquiry, to administer membership, and to let you know about AWTE events and activities. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Our lawful bases are your consent (newsletter), and our legitimate interests in running the association and responding to people who contact us.

Who processes data for us

  • Mailchimp — newsletter delivery
  • membermojo — individual membership sign-up and renewals
  • Eventbrite — event listings and bookings
  • Our website and email hosting providers

These providers act on our instructions and some may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe. Enquiries: for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Membership records: for the duration of membership and a limited period after, for administration and accounting.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Embedded services such as Eventbrite and LinkedIn may set their own cookies when you interact with their content. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.

To make a request, email hello@awte.org.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date above.
