Join Roddy McDougall, Pippa Jacks and AWTE to enhance your media skills and increase your confidence in dealing with the media.
Whether it’s facing a rookie reporter, a knowledgeable editor from a highly-influential trade magazine or the latest pitbull presenter on a high-profile TV show, you need to be prepared.
Roddy will lead the first part of session and help you explore the key messages you want to convey, as well as prepare for those questions which may stray from your objectives. You’ll run through interview scenarios and investigate how it feels to be interviewed on camera, all in the aim of making you more confident in dealing with the media.
Pippa will follow this with some helpful tips to help you understand what stories the trade media find interesting, what’s newsworthy and how to make a story stand out.
The session will run from 1000-1300 on 3rd October.
Roddy McDougall is a media and presentation coach vast experience in coaching media to high profile businesses across the UK, Europe, US, the Gulf States and China. Prior to this, Roddy worked in television news for 17 years as a senior editor. This included Head of News at the ITV Breakfast station GMTV and Head of Home News at ITN. He began his journalistic career as a BBC News Trainee.
