The 2017 “Chair Awards” shortlist is announced

Taking place on 12th September, the AWTE Chair Awards are a celebration of women working in the travel industry.  Limited to three awards, the event is a popular evening that applauds women and their achievements within different sectors of the industry, previous winners have ranged from CEOs to female train drivers. 

The award categories comprise of the Business Impact Award and Company of the Year. Additionally, the Honorary Award celebrates contributions to the AWTE and, by association, contributions made to advance careers of women in travel.

On the evening, a further five women will be inducted on to the AWTE “influential women in travel” list started on the 60th anniversary of the AWTE in 2014. 

This year the AWTE celebrated a new milestone, the 50-year anniversary of the Benevolent Fund. Every year the Benevolent Fund issues two cash donations for £1,000 and £500 respectively to help women grow their business. The worthy winners will also be announced at the Chair Awards.
