On Wednesday 26th October, four members of the board of the AWTE headed to Ireland on a fact-finding mission. The mission was to see if there was interest for AWTE in Ireland.
Lorraine Quinn from Celebrity and Clare Dunne from The Travel Broker in Ireland expressed an initial interest and set about inviting ladies to the event. Maura Maloney at Dublin Airport Platinum Services hosted the event.
After initial networking with over 35 ladies in attendance, we asked for feedback from every person in the room to ascertain why they had attended and what they felt they could benefit from the Association. This was followed by a short presentation from AWTE about what we do and what we feel would benefit the women in Ireland.
The Association received positive feedback and the audience indicated there is demand for such an Association. AWTE is now surveying the women to look at how we can best tailor the approach and take things forward. Should the appetite be strong then AWTE will look at setting up a committee for AWTE in Ireland to ensure that we share develop and grow together.
Debbee Dale, Chair of AWTE said, “I’d like to express our sincere thanks to Clare, Lorraine and Maura for their unrivalled support in setting up our first networking event in Ireland to ascertain if there is demand for AWTE in Ireland. The energy in the room was tangible, and the hard work starts now with our attendees to ensure that we get the right tone and set up for the Association to grow. Ireland is just the start of a new global reach for AWTE, it’s a very exciting time for the Association”
