Sponsored by Gates and Partners LLP, members enjoyed a free to attend enlightening seminar on social media for businesses in the travel industry.
Social media and travel industry experts shared their views on how to make social media an integral part of their business and personal brand strategy.
Moderated by Claire Riches of Travel Waves Marketing, guest speakers included Warren Knight on the importance of social media, Kathryn Bullock, Face Marketing, on how to use social media successfully within a travel business and Stefan Hull, Propellernet, on if your travel business is so great how come I can’t find you online?
AWTE members and their guests learnt first-hand how to maximise the impact of their online presence and tips on what works well in travel.
Amanda Taylor, Chair of AWTE said: “This is the first of our Business Ready Sessions, launched to support key business skills for our members and their guests. The use of social media in business is very topical and relevant in today’s tough marketplace as business owners seek to maximise their budgets and incorporate a social media strategy into their marketing plans.
These sessions are in addtion to our original ‘Boardroom Ready’ concept which continues alongside these new sessions, supporting those who wish to gain board positions.”
A lively debate followed the session giving the audience the opportunity to ask the panel “I’ve heard the theory, now how do I put it into practice in my business?”.
Taylor continued: “The feedback we have received from our members has been very positive and we will be announcing further ‘Boardroom Ready’ and ‘Business Ready’ sessions for 2013.”
Rounding off the session, members enjoyed a bite to eat whilst networking with their industry colleagues.
