About Us

The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE UK Ltd) was founded in 1954 to improve the status of women in the travel industry and provide a base for both national and international networking. The Association is non-profit making and run by volunteer committees.

The Association meets the needs of today's Travel Women by providing opportunities for professional women to meet and exchange views and ideas on current market trends within the travel industry. Membership is open to women in senior positions from all areas of the travel industry and related fields, offering a chance to develop new business with like-minded travel professionals of all ages and backgrounds.

Members are invited to attend a variety of functions such as lunches, evening events and educational and personal development seminars, with opportunities to entertain clients, both men and women, at many of these events. Networking opportunities are available with other organisations in the UK.

ACTIVITIES

AWTE UK organises educational and social events, including seminars, workshops, lunches and evening meetings for members and their guests. Male guests are always welcome !

The AWTE Entrepreneurs' Club supports members who are sole proprietors of or major shareholders in their businesses with a series of lunchtime talks, covering a wide range of topics of interest to the independent business woman in a confidential setting. (Click here for details)

AWTE's annual Christmas Lunch is a legend in the industry. With over 500 attendees, it is the largest and most prestigious travel trade lunch and focuses on fund-raising for nominated charities.

The AWTE website contains a wealth of information, including a directory of the UK membership, which provides a valuable networking aid.
