CIMtIG is recognised by the UK travel industry to be the centre of applied marketing knowledge for the travel industry. Approximately 1000 members now enjoy the active and tangible benefits of our association, which has become the largest cross-sector travel association in the UK.
CIMtIG is the forum for professional debates on marketing matters related to the travel industry.
CIMtIG, established in 1969, enjoys a long-standing relationship and support from its parent organisation, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is a not-for-profit organisation.
Mission: CIMtIG's main mission is to proactively satisfy the needs of members and provide awareness of the latest and best in travel marketing developments.
Specifically, we aim to:
- Promote and practice marketing excellence within the travel and tourism industry
- Demonstrate that travel professionals can improve the long-term success and profitability of their organisations by understanding and applying modern marketing techniques
- Encourage and facilitate members' professional development (as part of The Chartered Institute of Marketing we participate in a CPD scheme - with accreditation from our seminars towards individual Chartered Marketer status)
- Advance exchanges and knowledge sharing amongst members
- Facilitate and foster networking opportunities
- Deliver regular pertinent Travel Industry seminars
In addition, CIMtIG organises two annual showcase events, the Television Advertising Showcase and the Travel Advertising Awards Gala Dinner, with attendance respectively of 300 and 500-600. These are both highlights of the UK travel trade calendar.
Membership of CIMtIG is open to all persons involved in the Marketing/Sales/Administration/Education of any aspect of the travel and tourism industry. CIM members can choose to be affiliated at no extra charge. CIMtIG is held in high esteem both within and outside the industry.
