The AWTE Benevolent was formed in 1967 in memory of Gillyan Shebbeare to support AWTE members enduring difficult times, personally or professionally.

Gillyan’s donation helped establish the fund to raise money
to support members through life’s ups and downs both personally and
professionally.
  Over 50 years many
members have benefited from subsidies and spirit-lifting treats which have
helped then through illness and bereavement, job losses and to celebrate happy
occasions too.

A dedicated committee of AWTE members, led by the Benevolent
Chair Aphrodite Burton, raise funds throughout the year by offering attractive raffle
prizes at the AWTE Christmas Lunch and the AWTE Benevolent Lunch and the 100
Club Lucky Numbers draw.

To help us continue supporting members, we need to hear from
you!
If you have information to pass on
about a member who may be in enduring difficult times, personally or
professionally please contact us – all communication is in total confidence. We
would also be happy to hear from you should you wish to make a financial or
prize donation –
please contact us.

We are delighted to have been able to help our members over
the past 50 years –  Click here  to read their heartfelt words of thanks.
